A dormant horror is haunting the snow-choked settlement of Dougan's Hole, and it's up to adventurers to hunt down the vampiric threat that has been released from imprisonment, before it can spread it's evil further afield. In the process, they can lay to rest the trapped spirit of a dwarven priest, who in days past gave her own life to hold the creature at bay...

Blood on Winter’s Wind is a short adventure for a party of around 4-5 adventurers with an average level of 3.
It should take a single 4-5 hour session to complete, but it can easily be split into two shorter sessions.

This short horror adventure can be approached in three different ways, depending on your requirements:

1. As a follow up to "Song of the Mountain"
This adventure is a follow up to my first adventure, Song of the Mountain: A Player Primer Adventure. Dreams draw the wielder or wielders of the magical weapons Aria and Cadence southwards, where the spirit of Melody once again draws the adventurers into helping a fallen friend. This adventure will then act as a jumping off point for further linked adventures, through the use of an (optional) epilogue encounter.

A link to my first adventure in this loose series - Song of the mountain, which tells a haunting ghost story of love loss and betrayal in the frozen north of Icewind Dale

2. As extra content for your Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden campaign.
This adventure can be easily dropped into your Rime of the Frostmaiden or other Icewind Dale based adventure as a second optional side quest for the town of Dougan's Hole, or to replace the original sidequest if talking animals don't quite fit the tone of your campaign! This adventure can be dropped into the campaign easily at any point prior to Chapter four of Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden.

3. As a short stand-alone winter horror scenario.
Blood on Winter's Wind can be run as a simple stand-alone one-shot scenario, or dropped into any winter or horror themed campaign, without many adjustments.

Saga's art continues to delight. Colorful maps that are easy to parse are always fantastic. The layout of the adventure is gorgeously cold and blue I appreciated the fonts thematically fitting. Having both a thematic handout and just the raw text [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
